Giddy up!

Sometimes it really works in Mackenzie's favor to be the little sister. The other night Mackenzie climbed on Emma's back and said, "Giddy up, Emma!" I checked out my sister in law Brooke's blog, which I do on a daily basis. And, she was talking about things that she hopes she never forgets about her daughter, Erin. And, it got me thinking about things that I never want to forget about my children.

I never want to forget the day they came into this world. Or, how when we brought Emma home, Willard just accepted her and continued playing. Except, to unwrap her from her blanket so that he could check her out. How people said, it would be hard with them so close in age and it was for the first year. Now, I could not imagine life without them together. I will never forget Emma's chubby cheeks or her giggle. Her chubby cheeks are long gone, but I hear that giggle everyday. Or, the first time she said snoggy, my hair is snoggy, mom. Her own made up word. We will have to patent it. And, Willard's Big blue eyes. I used to look at him and think, where did this perfect little blue eyed blonde boy come from?? He was the perfect baby boy, in every way., and always so happy. How we took him to Vegas when he was 7 months old and he was constipated the whole time and I had to walk the hotel halls with him, pregnant! And, today in the car, when Emma told him he had chicken legs. He responded saying, "Do you see any chicken on my legs? No, you do not!" And, last but not least, Mackenzie o'Neil. The best baby in the whole world, who never made a peep. And, now we cannot get her to be quiet! How she says, "I love you, mama." And, never wears socks and only shoes that she wants. She dresses herself every morning in a dress. I rock her to sleep every night and I never want to let go. And, the day we brought her home, Will and I said,"It only gets better from here." And, it did! Better than we ever imagined. Well, maybe when I started getting a full nights sleep.
